About
This Space

This charming Provence vacation villa is located at the heart of a 50-acres (20 hectares) family-owned vineyard on the outskirts of the small but reputable village of Cairanne, one of the leading producers of the Southern Rhône Valley. This Provençale-style "mas" (a traditional farmhouse) is the perfect short-term rental for your stay in Southern France. The converted stables dating from the mid-19th century make up the main house. This is bordered by the old winery and ancillary buildings, all lying in the midst of luscious vineyards, fruit orchards, and olive groves.

Just a mile from the center of the village of Cairanne, this three-bedroom property is one half of a two-winged Provençal villa, and can sleep up to seven guests (or up to 10 guests, when the whole villa is rented together as a five-bedroom). The Cairanne two-bedroom property proposes a comfortable and inviting space, perfect for friends, families, or romantic getaways. The bedrooms, each with its own en suite half bath (the master bedroom has a full en suite bath), offer air conditioning and a king-sized bed that can be split into two singles. One of the bedrooms also have a daybed for additional sleeping space (at extra cost). On the ground level, there is a living room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining area.

The owners of this gorgeous, sustainable property have paid careful attention to detail. Assisted by an interior architect when restoring the stables, they had an eye for balancing authenticity, comfort, and country simplicity. Traditional touches meet contemporary architecture, with large bay windows throughout the villa, which contribute to the luminous atmosphere.

A path leading from the central courtyard gives access to the gardens and to the swimming-pool: a long, discreet lap pool hidden among hundred-year-old olive trees. You can relax and cool down surrounded by Rhône Valley vineyards, overlooking Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail - some of the most magical locations of the region.

Your hosts, Nick and Sabine - both passionate about Provence history, tradition, food, and wine culture - will be delighted to welcome you and are able to propose rich experiences, both at the villa and throughout the region. As well as private wine tours that Nick organizes for the villa (for an additional fee), he can also guide you to discover premium quality wines from the world-renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Sabine, a Provence native who loves cooking local Provençal food, is available and happy to cook for you during your stay. (Please inquire for more details.) Cooking classes with a private chef can also be arranged in your villa.

About Cairanne and the region
Your Provence home is located in the 8th century settlement of Cairanne, a Cru Classé village in the heart of the world-renowned Côtes-du-Rhône region, on the famous Route des Vins. The small village sits on a hill with a view southwards overlooking the vineyard plains. For wine aficionados and serious connoisseurs, this is the perfect location; just a short drive to the regions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and many more.

Our week staying in Cairanne was absolutely magical. The property was entirely as advertised and photographed--but even better! It sits in a grove of gorgeous old trees, and the sound of the Provencal wind in the leaves lulled us to sleep every night. The working vineyard is both wonderfully atmospheric and produces delicious Cotes-du-Rhone wine. The tiny, lovely village of Cairanne is just a couple moments away, with a delightful bistro we ate at several times. The property was also perfectly situated for day trips to Orange, Avignon, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and scenic drives around and through the Dentelles. Finally, the property owners Nic and Sabine were friendly, helpful, responsive to questions or concerns, and gave great recommendations for the local area. Yes, our stay was unforgettable, in the best possible way!

We had a lovely stay at a quietly beautiful place-- well-greeted, informed; everything clean & ready for us.

Sandi P. February, 2016 Hobart, Tasmania

As I'm sure you are aware; Nick and Sabine are the greeters, owners....and also work on the property/vineyard. We could not have had a more delightful trip. Rest assured, the high standards of Haven in Paris are being met. We also had a fabulous wine tasting with Nick. We were made to feel very welcome and our teenage son was offered use of a table tennis table during our stay (which was a big hit.). The accommodation and setting were just lovely. PS The big bunch of spring flowers on the lounge table were glorious - and completely unexpected!

Our stay at the Cairanne Property in Provence was outstanding. The owners could not have been more welcoming. Everything was exactly as stated on the Haven In Paris Web Page.

We had a very nice stay at the extremely spacious 3 bedroom in Cairanne! It was a good base of operations for touring the beautiful area. My husband and I both enjoyed gorgeous runs, and we loved walking into Cairanne itself with our kids. The pool was freezing in April, but the kids swam every afternoon anyway! Thank you!

Just a few words of thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. All of us had a wonderful time. Both of you made us feel comfortable. If you are ever visiting Bangalore, let us know. All the best and thanks once again.

I would like to start off by saying that we are incredibly happy with our stay in Cairanne for the 5 days we were there. I only wish we had booked it for 10 days instead! We got in late and it was a bit hard to find, but as soon as we were worried we may had taken yet another wrong turn...there was Nick (our correspondent) waiting for us around the corner like a hero in the night - to our relief, had been waiting for us in the dark to greet our late arrival. Rolling up to the property even as dark as it was, was like arriving at the setting of a fairytale- It was stunning. The stay was fantastic. We hadn't realized it was a working winery before booking - but having the staff around the property was really relieving esp since the villa is on such a vast property, not to mention, our curiosity was well exercised as we were able to see first hand some of the processes involved in wine making. We had a great time - I feel like a new woman!

We heard about HinP through friends. We LOVED staying there. Nick was very welcoming and always helpful. The condo was clean and more than adequately furnished. We had a great week and have recommended it to all our friends as a perfect place to stay. We hope to return. We would recommend it enthusiastically to everyone. I wanted to add one suggestion to our strongly enthusiastic review. It would be helpful to have a railing on the stairs going up to the bedrooms. We are in good shape but we felt the need for something to hold onto many times going up and down. We came to your site through a recommendation from friends who will be with you next May. It looked good and we decided to go for it. Best thing we could have done! Note from HIP: We have made the suggestion for a hand rail to the owners.

First we want to thank Nick and Sabine. We had an absolutely amazing week in your beautiful home. The week went by so fast it seemed like we were just beginning to settle in when it was time to start packing for our return to Russia. It is with a heavy heart that we had to leave this beautiful villa. Our family will have some amazing memories from our vacation and hopefully one day we will return.

Merci beaucoup pour les grandes vacances celebrating Larry's 70th birthday and Tom's 65th birthday in the perfect spot. There's a great view of Mt. Ventoux, sun and moon rises, and sunsets. It's the perfect way to enjoy the vineyard. Thanks Nick for the tour and tasting. Sabine, thanks for the great recommendations. It was a truly magnificent week filled with great people, wine, cheese, and scenery to embrace and hold in the mind's eye. Nick and Sabine are over the top and we offer a heartfelt thanks to them.

The situation in Cairanne was superb.

Nate Hjelseth June, 2011 Minneapolis, MN USA

The Cairanne 3 bedroom property was outstanding. The rural setting surrounded by vineyards and wheat fields was breath-taking and the property itself exceeded my expectations. The Haven in Paris group was very thorough in making the arrangements and making sure that I had fufilled my planning obligations.

Jane Racoosin June, 2011 Brooklyn, NY

I would say that my experience with Haven in Paris was really great. I was expecting a kitchen where I could cook the wonderful produce that I was finding in the markets in Provence. It was disappointing that I didn't have the tools at my fingertips to do that. After contacting you Nick did go out and buy a small cuisinart and some new knives. The kitchen was filled with ants and it was a little disconcerting that they kept crawling all over my food. I did tell the owners when we left. I guess I could have gone out to buy ant spray, but I didn't think it was not easy to find that kind of thing and I am hesitant to spray that stuff around food. We rented a house in Lucca, Italy a few years ago and the kitchen was amazing. That is the picture I had in my mind. That said, the setting was truly beautiful and the place spacious. How could you not enjoy being surrounded by mountains and vineyards. We travelled to so many towns. Also, the flowers should be taken off the website. The owner said it was impossible to get yet there are sunflowers growing all around. I am not sure if you have been renting this property for awhile why know one else ever let you know. I guess they didn't really care about that kind of thing. I think I would recommend this spot to others, but not if they are really big cooks. Note from HiP: We worked closely with Jane during her stay and were happily able to supply additional kitchen utensils. The owner has been notified of the ants and will be working to eliminate them as best possible, but please keep in mind that this property is in the countryside and thus you're closer to nature. Unfortunately, unlike for our Paris flats, we are unable to provide flowers at our Cairanne properties. But, we hope the replacement with a complimentary tour of vineyard and wine tasting will make up for it. Just outside your window you will see flowers and vineyards all around (in season of course).

I just wanted to let you know how pleased we all were with the Cairanne property and the efficient way you handled the rental. The website accurately and honestly portrays the property. In fact, it was even better than we expected. It is a very beautiful and comfortable villa and our every need was satisfied. The bedrooms were very roomy, the beds were so comfortable and cozy, and the kitchen was fabulous. In the evenings, we were permanent fixtures on the patio, drinking the domaine wine and enjoying our French dinner of pate, bread, cheese, and other items we had picked up at the morning market. The owners, Nick & Sabine were very gracious and helpful - and we loved their wine! We were very pleased with the location as well. I had no idea about how centrally located we would be to so many attractions and charming villages. We truly had a wonderful time and have already been recommending it to all our friends.

Peter & Alison September, 2006 UK

We had a great time in Provence. It was lovely and peaceful. Nick was excellent, very supportive, and always available to help with any query. We enjoyed his wine tasting and hopefully were good customers. The villa was very nice and tastefully decorated - a nice feeling of space. The childen, in particular, enjoyed the swimming pool. Alll six of us had a lovely time. Many thanks.

Shaun & Christie June, 2006 usa

Thanks for a wonderful time. Your villa was excellent, everything we needed. We love this area of Provence and will definitely be back. Thanks again.

Un grand merci pour l'accueil chalereux, pour la visite de la cave (merci a Sandrine), pour la gite parfaitement en ordre, pour la tranquilitéet la vue superbe sur le Mt. Ventoux. Une semaine tres reussi!

Bart, Veerle, Sebastian, Florian April, 2005 ?

We have spent a wonderful time here at the Gite. We enjoyed how the house was very tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the vineyards. And of course the tour we got of how the wine is made. Thank you for making us feel very welcome. Our three boys loved wandering around and exploring. Thanks for everything! We hope to come back sometime.
