Louvre
My wife and I (56 and 59) visited with her older (79 and 76) parents for a week in early April, 2013. The apartment is ideal for exploring Paris and all its attractions. It is within ~300 yds of the Louvre, a couple of blocks to the Seine, and an easy walk to Notre Dame cathedral, among other things. It's also just 100 yds from the entrance to the La Halle Metro station, which links to TGV and RER services. And, dangerously, it's just two doors down Rue St Honore to an award-winning boulangerie and other fresh food vendors. Good incentive to do lots of walking! The apartment itself is very nice, with great views and a terrace (which we never used due to the unseasonably cold weather during our stay). There is a small lift from the ground floor that is helpful in getting luggage up to the last level, from which you'll need to manually heft it the rest of the way. The apartment layout is basically tri-level, with a small but serviceable bedroom (with a full bed) on the first level just inside the entry door. The main level is up a set of (slick and uneven) steps, where the small kitchen and living/dining areas are found. Then, up a third set of steps is the loft, with a queen-sized bed and access to the terrace. The steps up to the loft are open to the living room, but there is a handrail here that is helpful. The linens and towels are high quality and felt great after our long days of ambling around the city. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was also a plus, as was the towel warmer. The apartment had wifi with a strong signal that worked well throughout the unit. The kitchenware and utensils were nice, though it would be good to have some reasonable-quality knives available. Oddly, we were never able to get the microwave oven to work -- though it would have been helpful, it didn't ruin our trip! Our greeter, Roger, was great. He was helpful, accommodating and had insightful advice about the city. We left feeling we'd made a new friend. Something to consider: the apartment is on the 5th/6th floor, and many of the flights of steps up to the apartment are slanted, slick and uneven. The footing has a sense of being somewhat treacherous. Using the lift certainly helps, but even so, after exiting it, you must descend a short flight to a small landing and then climb a short, narrow flight to get to the unit. Once inside, there's one more flight of old, off-kilter steps to negotiate to get to the main floor. This is in no way a fatal flaw, but if you are traveling with older folks or someone who is not too steady on their feet, we suggest you give this some consideration. We were traveling with older parents and had to be continuously cautious with the steps. (We have suggested to the Haven In Paris folks that some non-slip appliqué on the steps would be helpful.) So, all in all, we had a wonderful stay and we recommend both HIP and the Louvre Apartment. Be aware of the stairs as described above and if this is not an issue for you, this unit will provide an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful and intoxicating city! Why HiP? We found HIP through an Internet search and we're happy to recommend! The rental process was easy and all the people we dealt with, from rental to check-in to check-out, were great. |

We have had a wonderful time in Paris and this apartment. Despite the cold weather, it was always good to return to the warmth and comfort of "Louvre." We would recommend two amazing bistros - Albion & L'Office - best food!! The local deli & bakery were also big hits. Thanks to Roger & David who gave us a warm welcome and helped us with our luggage. |

The apartment is in one of the best locations we have stayed in Paris. It really is in walking distance to much of the best Paris has to offer in terms of sights, museums & restaurants. The loft bedroom was comfortable & the views of the balcony were a treat. This is our second experience booking with HIP & they are professional & friendly. I would recommend them to any family or friends going to Paris & looking for more space than what you get in a hotel room. Why HiP? We have rented with HIP before. The website descriptions & photos are accurate & the whole experience is smooth & professional. The discount rate you offer for off season and repeat clients are also very attractive. |

We do really satisfy with our stay in louvre, Roger was very helpful and he explained the apartment and the surroundment with detail. great location, near to metro, shopping center, market, and julieeen:), we do really love the bread in julien:). the apartment was very clean n the looks was exactly the same with the internet, our son Jerry was very happy to see through the center window in the living room:) and.... feels like home to us:)... thank you HIP n thank you Roger... We had an absolutely wonderful first visit to Paris! Everyone on the Haven in Paris team was great which made the reservation process very easy & confidence inspiring. We also felt very supported throughout our stay, that is if anything were to go wrong, we knew that help would be nearby. Roger, our greeter, was very friendly and gave us a quick intro to the local area. The apartment was exactly as we expected and its location was ideal in that it was walking distance to the Louvre and a block away from the Metro. The apartment was clean, cozy and in good shape. Lastly, David, our driver to/from the airport, was great. He met us promptly at the airport and gave us our first introduction to Paris. Overall, we now have great memories of Paris and part of that is due to Haven in Paris! Why HiP? We decided to rent through Haven in Paris because the website is top notch (terrific pictures and easy scanning of availability), the company is US based and their team is extremely responsive and understands customer service! We will definitely rent through them in the future. |

We had a wonderful stay at HiP's Louvre property. It was very comfortable and did not disappoint. We had a problem one evening with no hot water. I wrote to Haven in Paris immediately and the plumber was there early the next day. We couldn't have asked for quicker service. (Ironically, my business partner was staying in another Parisian apartment rented through another agency and had no hot water that same evening. She never got a response from her rental agency, so not all agencies provide such quality service.) This is the second time we've rented an apartment through HiP and both were wonderful. Why HiP? We rented through Haven in Paris in March of this year earlier this year because a neighbor who owns a rental apartment in Paris couldn't accommodate us for the dates we needed and recommended an apartment down the street from his. We were very happy in that first apartment, too. |

The apartment is in a very convenient location allowing walking visits to the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Metro access is just a few blocks away. Our greeter was most pleasant and courteous and took the time to show us all the amenities in the apartment so we felt comfortable with everything. Having a kitchen was a great convenience and the apartment overall is very comfortable, with wonderful views. Supermarkets, vegetable and fruit market, bread and pastry shops all within one block made for relaxing evenings in the apartment with wine, bread, cheese, and desserts. |

Bonjour! I had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. The location was fantastic. I enjoyed fresh croissants each morning from Chez Juilan, this close proximity to shopping, dining and museums. Don't pass up a meal at George's in the Pompidou or Costes. Also be sure to pick up some cheese from the corner shop for a no-fuss meal. Thank you, Haven, for a great experience! We just returned to our home in Southern California after staying in your Louvre Apartment, Paris. Everything was perfect and in order. Our greeter, Roger Fountain, was completely courteous, punctual, and helpful in many ways. The limo service you suggested, David Partouch, was also punctual (actually early--waiting for us outside the apt) for our early morning pickup, relieving what would have otherwise been a stressful time at CDG Airport. We will use you again, in Paris and other locations we enjoy. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. The central location made everything we were interested in so nicely accessible. |

What a beautiful apartment to match an equally breathtaking city! Thank you for providing such a wonderful place - we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. For the best (and possibly the biggest) meringue, stop by R Bertrand, near Notre Dame, on Rue Lagrange. They also have delicious bakery treats. From there, Saint Chapelle is a short walk away. Its stained glass is incredible, making it an underrated gem of a church. We truly cannot wait to visit Paris again! Thanks again. |

Wonderful experience in this one-of-a-kind apartment. The four of us were very comfortable and happy here. Our youngest especially loved the middle window over the street. It was a perfect place in an amazing neighborhood. We loved the bakery and the fruit stand here. Just great! Thank you. |

The HIP team was a pleasure to work with. They were quick to respond to queries and questions. The process was very smooth. Our greeter, Christi, was great. I would highly recommend HIP to friends and family. The apartment was very lovely, centrally located, and worked well for our family of four. It was a welcoming sanctuary after long days of walking around. We especially loved hanging out on the rooftop terrace with fresh croissants, pan au chocolat, fruit from the market, and coffee. We think the apartment is lovely, charming, clean, well located. However, we would not rent the apt. again because the bathroom is too far away from the bedroom. Also, there are too many stairs from the elevator. NOTE from HiP: This is not an apartment appropriate for people who have problems climbing stairs. The bathroom is down the stairs from the main bedroom and up the stairs from the second bedroom. Why HiP? The ease of using the internet for the process. |

Haven in Paris was WONDERFUL to work with. When a friend's apartment didn't work out, she contacted Haven and they sent us a list of apartments that WERE available. Our trip (our honeymoon!) was incredible. The apartment was perfect for our 11 day trip as we had room to spread out and feel like we were living in Paris and not just visiting. The Louvre apartment was modern and very Parisian at the same time. We loved it! Why HiP? Connection through friends. Everything was great. Better instructions for use of the combo microwave / conventional oven would be a help to future users. My rental experience with Haven in Paris was the best I've found. I often use VRBO, but this was much better! My emails were answered very promptly and they often would call me to make sure that I was satisfied with the answer to a question. I have never received such excellent, customized service. They were very prompt in quickly arranging an alternative property when an unexpected situation arose that was out of anyone's control. I had never rented an apartment in Paris and was a lilttle hesitant to try it, but I had such a reliable experience with this company and highly recommend it! Regina (our greeter) was delightful and very helpful! She helped us with finding great streets and markets to explore and was invaluable in arranging our taxi for departure! Thank you so much for making our trip just perfect! I will be happy to talk with anyone considering you for a rental property! Why HiP? I found good recommendations on Trip Advisor. The location of the apartment was wonderful, we really liked the neighborhood. The apartment was in excellent condition and very adequate for three female adults. The terrace was a real added bonus, the views were wonderful. |
