We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It was very clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The location was good for us, nice to be so close to the Metro. Maybe a matter of preference, but we didn't find the restaurant directly across from the apartment door to be that great. The guy running it was very nice and helpful, however, and you can't beat it for convenience! If every company ran like Haven in Paris, the world would be a better place! Phenomenal communication and service, and the apartment could not have been better! From our initial inquiry, through some rearranging with the volcano crisis, to the time we were met by Evelyne at the door, everything was beyond our expectations (and they are high to begin with). The Roi Dore apartment is spacious, beautiful and has everything you need for a great stay in Paris. Elegantly but comfortably furnished it has all the conveniences of home and you won't want to leave. Our greeter, Evelyne (who we now refer to as "our friend in Paris") was there to meet us with her engaging smile and enthusiasm. Her passion for Paris is contagious and her knowledge of the city and it's history and culture is amazing. If you're unsure about renting an apartment for your stay...DO IT and do it with Haven in Paris! Why HiP? Have rented before with other companies, good experiences, but the property got us interested and the special pricing got us excited and the terrific communciation and friendliness of the entire team got us hooked. The apartment was just as the photos showed. We were slightly disappointed with the street which has a lot of construction going on or did when we stayed and the street itself is not the prettiest. That being said, the apartment is charming and spacious and ideally located. It was perfect for our needs. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms were nice and clean. We had some issues with the shower drain-it kept clogging. The kitchen was awesome-big and bright and full of everything we could need. Our only suggestion is that when you say a property is child friendly you should perhaps be more specific about the amenities or take some time to actually make it child friendly. Our 10 month old had a field day with all of the electrical cords and outlets-outlet covers would have been helpful. We spent the entire time trying to stop him from hurting himself. We understand that these apartments are decorated by their owners who don't necessarily have children but maybe in preparation for a family arriving some items could have been put away and safety measures could have been implemented. Maybe us American moms are more uptight then French moms about child proofing our homes! We have already recommended this apartment to friends with a baby and they have booked the apartment for September-we know they will be pleased. Note from HiP: While most of our apartments allow children and have amenities for children such as cribs and highchairs, unfortunately, at this time, none of them are 100% child proof (we wish they were). We ask that parents remain vigilant at all times with their children in our apartments. Please ask us directly if you have specific questions about an apartment in particular. Why HiP? I simply googled apartment rentals and Haven in Paris looked like it had some of the nicest apartments with the best website-easy to follow, great detail. I appreciated that it is run by Americans who presumably know what we are looking for when we come to Paris. |

The reservation process with HIP was very easy. The photographs of each apartment as well as the descriptions were accurate and helpful in the selection process. All of the pre-trip documentation made our planning of our trip quite stress free. The apartment itself was all that we wanted it to be; in a great area and had all of the "like home" accommodations that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable (computer, tv, furnishings, appliances etc). Just the right size for us, our daughter and her friends who also visited. The location was central to all the kinds of shopping and meals that we had planned. And we felt much more Parisian by having this as our home base. We walked (and eventually conquered the metro)everywhere... from all points of the Marais to Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysees... the absolute best way to see the sites of Paris. The HIP team, and our greeter were friendly and efficient and we could not have asked for more from them. Our only issue with the trip was with the airlines, due to canceled flights; but we communicated our issues with our greeter and all was understood and when we finally arrived, all was well. Loved: Paul Bert, Merci, Chez Nenesse, Bistrot de la rue de Turenne, Rose Cafe, Marche des Enfants Rouges, Place des Vosges, Tuileries, Marche aux puces, Le Bon Marche Epicerie, shops on Rue de Bretagne ... Why HiP? We chose HIP based on a recommendation of a colleague who had a very positive experience, so we felt it would be good for us as well. |

Had a great time in this wonderful apartment, took the metro everywhere, to many museums and also Versailles. Had dinners near "Place des Vosges" to which we walked, of course. Also ate some dinners at the apartment - having the grocery store so close. Beautiful kitchen and dining room. Also were really glad to have the internet connection for our personal computer as well as your computer, and were very glad to have the phone service to the USA. Also wonderful reception on the TV. All in all, a beautiful apartment, ambiance of the old but with modern conveniences. We liked very much always seeing the church across the street out the windows. Perhaps that's what inspired us to attend a service at the American Cathedral on Georges V Avenue Sunday morning, since we like churches! |

This past spring, we shocked a few maitre’ds when we asked for a table for seven—two parents, four children, and one grandfather to be specific. We started in Paris, which can be a challenge with a big group. If you’ve been to Paris, you know hotel accommodations are very small and very expensive. Finding multiple connecting rooms simply wasn’t an option for us. The good news is you can rent a three bedroom apartment in Paris, within walking distance of the sights, for a week or even a few days. While most are rented by the week, we’ve found owners are willing to rent for less than a week, particularly in shoulder or off-seasons (which is the best time to go anyway. No crowds.). I checked my usual site, VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner), as well as some others, and found reasonable rates (more about finding rental vacation homes in Europe). For this trip though, I discovered some real gems. Haven in Paris is a US-based rental agency offering stunning apartments throughout the city of lights. (They also offer rentals in Tuscany and Provence.) You work with US contacts to make arrangements and benefit from a locally-based team upon arrival. The service was outstanding, but the apartment was phenomenal. We rented the Roi Dore, a 3-bedroom right in the center of it all. With antique-style furniture, luxury linens, and billowing draperies, we felt like kings, or princes and princesses as it were. Even our 3-, 7-, 10-, and 13-year olds were impressed. With a big group, separate spaces were essential. After dinner, the grown-ups retired to the living room with seating for everyone. When the kids were pesky, we sent them off to their bedrooms while we enjoyed an extra glass of French wine and an American DVD. Feeding seven people in Paris can break the bank. So imagine the benefits of a fully appointed kitchen with modern appliances and a separate dining area for 8. Each morning I walked to the bakery on the corner, picked up some baguette and croissants and brought it home to start our day like the locals. We returned to the states last night. The apartment was perfect, just as advertised, in a perfect spot. The greeter was great, the facilities in the apartment were just what we needed, down to the pots and pans. Will look you up again for our next trip. |

The Greeter was there to meet us (a few minutes late, but very apologetically so) and was very thorough in showing us around the apartment and talking about the neighborhood. She even offered to make a run to the store for me for milk for my baby which was very considerate and kind. The apartment was lovely and very clean except for some dusty floors which when I commented she had cleaned as soon as possible. ! Everything was there that you could ever need.....even a computer with internet access! great neighborhood and lovely apartment. I hope to return soon! What a wonderful experience. Staying in your lovely apartment put us in the real Paris we had hoped for, closer to the everyday life and people. Can't say we filled every hour with the tour approach, rather we walked almost everywhere. The location was ideal for that and wemarveled at Paris. The public transit system we found just two blocks away when longer distances were required. We concluded that the big sites would always be there, and that a chance to meet and talk with the locals should not be missed. Neither of us is anywhere near fluency in French - we now know the the word for butter is "beurre" and we loved using "merci" at every opportunity - but it was never a problem, people were that kind and helpful. Again, a wonderful experience, aided greatly by making this house the place we hung our hats. |

We are back from our trip and I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how much we enjoyed it and having just the right place certainly contributed to that. Jeanne, our greeter, was amazing. She is a jewel and you are very fortunate to have her. She really acquainted us with the apartment and its appliances and when that was accomplished really took the time to tell us about the area. There is no doubt in my mind that we would not rent from anyone but you in the future and that we would specifically request properties that Jeanne is affiliated with. What a pleasant experience. As to the apartment, it was in very good condition, with some nice surprises... The kitchen is big the appliances modern, and in good working condition. Lots of extra sheets, and towels and pillows and blankets. Great security. The free calls were terrific as was the use of the laptop. Thanks so much for the memories. |

The apartment was very well equipped. It had everything you can imagine from umbrellas to an Apple laptop with internet connection. The view is beautiful; right across from a church. It's a very safe neighborhood with many beautiful shops and art galleries. The noise from the street and bells from the church takes some getting used to. We live in Dallas so we're not used to the big city noise. Our greeter, Jeanne, was always available and helpful. It was a wonderful stay. We would definitely recommend Haven in Paris to our friends and family. Why HiP? I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of Haven in Paris' customer service. They communicated to us regularly and gave us plenty of information before arriving. |

HIP was extremely efficient and responsive and always available. The experience in the Marais was fantastic, especially the proximity to the Place des Vosges, and the magnificently lit church across from our living room window. The apartment had everything we could possibly need, and was perfect for our family of four adults and one 2 year old. It was equipped with all the utensils and other necessities that one could ask for, exactly as it had been described on the internet. We bought nothing ourselves but some milk, cheese and fruit over the course of the week. It was extremely clean and the bathrooms were very modern and the water pressure was excellent. As I was the one who reserved the apartment, I received frequent emails on my Blackberry from Haven in Paris asking if everything was ok, and offering help if needed. We were thrilled with the experience and learned that a hotel is not the best answer for a family, but to have a living room and a place to munch on bread and cheese and fruit was the best! Why HiP? HIP had the right size apartment in a great neighbhorhood and we had a 2 1/2 year old that we thought would be much happier in an apartment than a hotel. When we looked for a nicer than average apartment HIP came up on the internet with the exact right choice. |

Haven in Paris was an outstanding find. We recently returned from a stay at a Roi dore in Paris. David picked us up at the airport in his Mercedes, was utterly charming and efficiently handled our luggage as well as transporting us. Using a car service after a transatlantic flight is definitely to be recommended. The apartment more than met our hopes and expectations. The renovation/restoration had been done with great care and obviously no expense was spared. All of the appliances were top of the line as were the cabinets in the kitchen. The bathrooms were extremely well done and more than serviceable. But my favorite was that my chronic allergies went en vacances probably because the apartment was spotless. Jeanne Chabanne met us accompanied by a young man who went over the use of the computer with us. She efficiently went over the details of the apartment. In short, we lacked for nothing and were very, very comfortable. It was an experience not to be missed. Why HiP? I should add that my wife and I used to run a similar service for the Caribbean and were impressed by the responsiveness and attention to detail by the personnel of Haven in Paris. I should also note that their properties appear to be very well appointed. French properties can be distressingly "minimalist" but a review of their offerings shows them to be very comfortable and well equipped with efficient people available to handle any problems or informational needs. We look forward to a return visit soon |

We loved the apartment. It was incredibly well equipped. The location was terrific with easy access to subways, restaurants, shops, etc. Everything was so clean. We loved having the internet access and the TV. The woman who greeted us was wonderful. She explained how to work everything and showed us where the manuals for the appliances were. We had to call her once when we couldn't figure out how to turn off the stove and she told us what to do. You helped set up a transfer to and from the airport with David and he was great. So helpful and we were really glad not to be on the subway with our luggage after the long flight. All in all we couldn't have been more pleased. We will certainly use your services again and recommend you to everyone we know. |

I travel extensively and always try to temper my expectations because I am so often disappointed... that wasn't the case this time. From our first contact Haven in Paris was perfect. The apartment was everything that it said it would be and very nicely outfitted. The street view out the windows looked like a stage set it was so beautiful. Oh my goodness the view of St.Claude church is extraordinary ! J’aime Paris ! Love shopping for artichauts, gigot, teeny pommes de terre on the rue de Bretagne, love Café des Musées and restaurant Janou for dinner. The apartment is lovely, the kitchen well equipped and the beds comfortable. This is a great neighborhood, very convenient and everyone has been so kind and helpful. We have loved our stay here. Eravamo in sei, quattro adulti e due bambini e ci siamo trovati molto comodi, sia per quello che riguarda gli spazi che per le forniture della casa, dove abbiamo cenato tutte le sere. Abbiamo passato degli splendidi giorni parigini, girando per mostre e negozi. L'appartemento e' situato molto bene, nei pressi dei mezzi di trasporto e vicino a negozi di alimentari di ogni tipo. La zona e' tipicamente parigina, nei pressi della pittoresca piazza dei Volsgi. Vivere a parigi in una situazione cosi' confortevole e' stato molto divertente per tutti noi, grandi e piccini. Working with Haven in Paris was a delight. My emails were always answered promptly, the staff was helpful and courteous and instructions and paperwork thorough. Jeanne, our greeter, welcomed us on Christmas Eve and had done some shopping as requested so we would have supplies over the holidays. She explained everything and answered any questions we might have had. Our trip was fabulous. It was cold in Paris but the sun came out every day while were there. Roi Dore was well situated in the Marais and the view to the church across the street gave a wonderful Christmas feel to our stay. We appreciated the holiday flowers and arrangement. There was easy access to the metro, restaurants and boulangeries. Seven of us nestled into our comfy beds after hours of walking and exploring Paris. Wifi and the computer were a necessity as some family members had some work to attend to. The iPod station filled Roi Dore with Christmas music we had brought along. The bath towels were luxurious and abundant and nicely heated on the towel racks. A washer and dryer and dish washer were very handy to have. Our jeans all seemed to fit much tighter after a few days and we figured it was all those pastries in the morning but realized that things must have shrunk in the dryer...maybe we did not read the directions properly? And, we did have to stagger showers as everyone wanted to use the main bathroom with the shower stall instead of the bathroom with the tub, but that did not seem to be a problem. Everything else, except the shower door which had been replaced but incorrectly and Jeanne had notified us about that, was great. A nice, roaring fire in a fireplace was all that was missing. Why HiP? I researched many websites but because of my timing there was not a lot available to accommodate 7 people at Christmas. Also, we only needed five nights instead of seven and I could not find places that would rent for less than a week. Although beyond my budget and two days rental more than we needed, I chose Haven in Paris and this property because it was one of the few left anywhere that would meet our needs. I am happy with the choice though as it was so professional and we felt well cared for and, we were able to use those extra days as the airline cancelled our flight and booked us a day later and our daughters were able to stay another night after that. In fact, they were sad to leave the coziness and amenities of Roi Dore but could not afford to stay on! |

We found this flat in the Marais to be lovely. The host was lovely. The apartment is lovely and clean, not cluttered like many rentals, and very well-equipped. We really enjoyed the neighborhood and I will certainly use this property for future clients. I think great for independent families. |

The property was perfect for my mother-daughter trip. I loved staying in the Marais and Jeanne was very helpful - especially making reservations at restaurants. it is a minor thing, but to improve the experience, i would suggest more information as to bus routes (not just subways) and a better/larger map of the neighborhood. all in all, a great experience and one that i would highly recommend. Why HiP? My friend Tina Lado found Haven through a website and booked a trip for December. After looking at a number of websites, i decided to use haven. you answered my questions sent via email quickly and returned phone calls and you were flexible as to the number of days i needed. |

Thank you very much for accommodating our group of eight persons (six adults and two children) for two weeks November 20 through December 2, 2008. The apartment was more than adequate for our needs. If we ever return with a group again, we certainly would like to stay here again. We love the Marais area of Paris because it is full of wonderful restaurants, cafes, shops, bakeries and grocery markets.The Metro was close at hand ,and we used it every day. We walked the area everyday also. We loved and walked to the City Hall, The Rue Rivoli, Notre Dame, The Latin Quarter and so on. We cooked dinner at the apartment several nights and enjoyed chocolate croissants every day for breakfast. Also loved the frites! Thank you for the beautiful TV (it helped our French) and the Internet connection. We saw Bruce Willis at the Deux Maggots with all the paparazzi and later were able to see ourselves in the background of the paparazzi pictures on the internet. That really impressed our 10 year old granddaughter. Can you tell we liked the place? Hopefully we may return there someday. |

We had a blast. Your place is really nice and the location was perfect. Your management company (Haven in Paris) was excellent. We had some questions and they were helpful and responsive. It was nice to have space since there were 4 of us. Having a kitchen and washer/dryer was a real treat. The only weak point was the traffic noise but that is Paris! |

Regarding the apartment the size of the apartment is great and it was in a immaculate condition. The kitchen was well equipped and all appliances were functional. The laptop and flat panel TV were very nice additions. The books about Paris were very handy. The greeter was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. |

We arrived after the others so did not meet the greeter, but I understand that she was most helpful. I did talk to her once by phone concerning the washing machine and she was able to answer my question quickly and effectively. The apartment was ideal for our group of seven. The arrangement of the apartment was just fine with plenty of room for all of us, in spite of the fact that one had to use the hide-a-bed in the living room. The kitchen was well equiped--the only suggestion would be to add a cheese cutter and a knife sharpener. The baths were fine as long as we staggered our showers. The only correction we would suggest is the shower. It would be helpful if the door could be altered so that it opens the other way. Also, a shelf in the shower would be welcome so that shampoo and shower gel could be stored at a reasonable height to eliminate constant bending over. The location was very good for us. With a metro station only 3 blocks away, we could access the city easily. Overall, the apartment experience was excellent. |

What a trip! We were a family of eight(three generations). We found the apartment to be quite charming. It was truly a home awqy from home. Loved the location. Felt as if we were living as true Parisians in an authentic neighborhood rather than as tourists. Quite convenient. The ladies at HIP are wonderful. The process to rent was very easy, and coming from the US, it was very easy to pay in US$s. We went as a family of 7 women and made memories to last a lifetime. Without the beautiful and centrally located apartment (close walk to many metros) we would not have been able to see and do as much as we did in just 5 days. We are already talking about our trip next year to Ireland (hint, hint...you need another rental) and hope we get as lucky with our accommodations. We could not have asked for a more comfortably furnished apartment. The Marais area is lively with plenty to do right in the Republique square. Grocery, pastries, coffee all within a block. While we were visiting there was a "peaceful riot" that took place all day right out our windows. We had a lot of fun watching it unfold. The only trouble we had was with the washing machine/dryer combo taking several hours per load, but since a new separate dryer is being installed it will be much easier for others to wash and dry more quickly. When the property we had originally secured became unavailable the month before our trip, we were on the search for another rental. We have a rental through VRBO so we started there. After contacting several owners/companies, we narrowed it down to 2 apartments. One was a personal home in the 2nd arrond. and the other was a Roi Dore. The homeowner was asking for too much cash up front and cash upon arrival in euros. With the strength of the euro and it's gradual climb we did not feel this was a secure option, but were debating it. Then I got a wonderful email from HIP offering a late booking discount, ability to pay now by credit card in US$s and I knew they were located in the US. SOLD! We talked it all over, everyone looked at the website and photos and agreed with me. We would definitely rent another apartment if it is available and on our vacation agenda. |

We had a wonderful time in Roi Dore apartment. The apartment is in an excellent position, close to Metro's, galleries, supermarkets, speciality food shops etc. As we had 5 adults I was concerned about space when I booked, we found the apartment was more than large enough for all of us. In fact it was far larger than I had hoped. Our greeter was Anne. She was there on our arrival and explained everything to us. We had a slight problem with incoming phone calls and contacted her, she was over to solve the problem for us that afternoon. She was wonderful. It was a very pleasant surprise to have fresh flowers in the apartment and a bottle of wine. The apartment was very clean and the decor excellent. I will certainly use this apartment when we come back to Paris and will recommend your Company to our friends. |

The Roi Dore apartment is in a wonderful neighborhood -- near the Musee Picasso and other attractions of the Marais. It's close to transportation and shopping but is very quiet in the evening. The apartment is very comfortable and beautifully decorated, with spacious and well-equipped bathrooms. We didn't cook a great deal, but it was wonderful to have everything we needed for breakfasts at home. A vey special place! |

I was recently in Paris for 10+/- days for business and vacation and decided to stay in an apartment instead of a hotel. I was very pleased with Roi Dore apartment and Haven in Paris. The apartment is in a great location - close to shopping, restaurants and many famous landmarks of Paris. I was also pleased with the level of comfort and amenities in the apartment which were much nicer than any 4 or 5 star hotel. The staff at Haven in Paris is also fantastic. I highly recommend Haven in Paris! |

My family (my brother and his wife, my 80 year old parents, my husband and me) had a fantastic stay at Rue Du Roi Dore. The apartment is very well appointed, with very comfortable (firm) beds; a kitchen that was well equipped; and a fantastic view of the Church across the street. We found the location to be superb with easy access to the metro, grocery stores, bakeries, and great shopping and dining nearby. Anne met us upon arrival and showed us how everything worked in the kitchen (the appliances are great) as well as the rest of the apartment. Haven in Paris has great little touches that make the stay more enjoyable - umbrellas by the door, flowers in the bathroom, extra towels, hairdryers, and wonderful sheets with down comforters.The Mac computer was a great amenity as well as the free calls to the United States. Why HiP? We were looking for an apartment in the Marais. This apartment was nice looking, the right size, and was in a great location. |

Your apartment provides a unique and comfortable way to enjoy Paris! It's a great (central) location to walk around the neighborhoods, as well as being close to the Metro. Thank you for creating such a well equipped apartment. It really worked out well for 6 adults. We were in Paris for our nephew's wedding this past weekend-he also lives in the Marais disctrict, which made it easy for visiting and convenient for everyone. We would definitely recommend your apartment to friends in the future. Anne, our greeter, was very helpful, friendly and professional - 1st class! Thanks again for a wonderful stay. |

We loved Roi Dore and we had a great stay in Paris. We Loved the apartment. The first thing you notice when opening the door is how light and open it feels. While only two floors up it does not feel hemmed in. Sun and light come in from every window. It is also bigger than we imagined, has a brilliant kitchen which is both well equipped and well stocked. The apartment feels generous in its furnishings, appliances and equipment. It is also a great location in the Marais with some very interesting galleries, shops and restaurants all within an easy walk. Kyra who met us was great. She was efficient, answered all our questions and we found the whole experience really professional. |

My companions and I enjoyed our week at the Roi Dore apartment. We were greeted by Kyra who made us feel very welcome, showed us what we needed to know about the apartment (she even had us each try the key in the apartment door lock!), and gave us tips about our neighborhood. We visited her favorite restaurant and it was the best dining experience we had in Paris. She's a bright, engaging, young woman and is an asset to your company. We were five people and we found having two bathrooms more a necessity than a luxury. One of the best perks of the apartment was the unlimited free long-distance calling on the telephone. We all made great use of this - it was fun to talk with our family at home and not feel constrained by the thought of a whopping long-distance bill. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed being able to make coffee and tea in the morning and snacks or a light supper in the evening. Thanks for having tea and coffee on hand for us. The apartment was clean and nicely appointed. We loved the timbered ceiling, the huge windows we could open to the street, and the view of the church across the street. The Marais is a splendid area in which to stay in Paris - so much in your own neighborhood and easy walking to many other sights. Thanks again for a very pleasant saty in Paris. |

The apartment itself is great in terms of location, furnishings and nice little touches. Evelyne (our greeter) was great and so was Anne who came back from vacation and spoke to us on the phone and helped out by providing a laptop that worked with the wired Internet access. Bottom line, you offer a very good product and we would do this again with you and have already recommended to friends. |

We traveled to Paris at the end of July and decided to stay in an apartment with our two teenage boys as opposed to a hotel. We made a fantastic decision! This apartment was perfect for us. The location in the Marais was great. The apartment was HUGE. It was airy and quiet and the beds were very very comfortable!Just down the street was a grocery store where we bought orange juice and yogurts. The metro was also basically a block and a half away. Evelyne greeted us at our apartment and she happily spent as much time as we needed to explain where things were and how the washer/dryer worked! There are two patisseries close by and the Place des Vosges is just down the street. We would definitely use Haven in Paris for our next trip to France. We couldn't get over how charming the area around the apartment was! There were photo opportunities right outside our door and our windows! Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more about this apartment! Why HiP? The timely responses were a factor and the fact that they are based in the US made me feel more confident since this was our first experience in renting an apartment outside of the US. I also liked the fact that someone would meet us at the apartment to "show us the ropes". So I guess US based and customer service were the deciding factors in choosing Haven in Paris. I only wish that you had properties outside of France too! |
